Hi all,

For the yachtmasters practical exam, which i'm doing on my own boat , a Blyth 33 cat .

How many crew should i have ,,, 1 or 2 ?

What sort of experience should they have ?

2 would be better, and they should have as much experience as possible! You and crew should be able to handle the boat and all the exercises with ease. take the boat out and hand over to a helm as soon as poss, otherwise you are trying to helm and answer querstions at the same time. Let others helm as much as possible.

i decided not to do the ym on my own boat for that reson so instead am paying BOSS a small fortune to do it with them

Agree with TCM.
At least one person who is totally reliable and knowledgeable, who does nothing but helm, provide food and liquid.

I did it on own boat, with another friend also doing YM on same occasion. Much better than foriegn boat because it and all kit is totally familiar.
