Hi everyone, I am a 23 year old recent graduate in Economics looking to gain additional experience in yacht delivery, yacht racing and cruising. I have sailed since I was about 12, I was in the National Topper Youth Squad and have raced at nationals and national schools events. I am a qualified dinghy sailing instructor which requires a high sailing ability, powerboat qualifications and first aid training. I am also a qualified lifeguard.

My yachting experience is limited compared to my dinghy experience. I have done one delivery of a Hanse 301, 30ft, a distance of 250nm where I stood solo night watches and was involved in all duties as part of a crew of 3.

I hope to gain experience on a variety of different yachts before taking my day skipper qualification with the aim of leaving the UK in mid August to become a full time yacht delivery crew in the Med with the longer term aim of crossing the Atlantic. I am based in Oxford but have transport and am willing to travel to crew in races, or social cruising in the south east, south coast, south west and south Wales.

I am available now and am free most days through til August.

Hello SailCrewJW,
I live in the Oxford area and am always on the lookout for people to share charters with. I am an RYA dayskipper. I don't have loads of experience but I'm comfortable skippering weekend bareboat charters around the Solent/Christchurch bay area. I can normally rustle up a couple of novice sailors who are keen to come but, this season, the experienced sailors who I know have become a bit thin on the ground. I can't offer to subsidise your place aboard but if you're interested in a chartering with straight split of the cost let me know and we can try to organise something.

Hi all, just a quick update. I've just got home from two cross-channel deliveries and my diary is now full until about the 20th of July, thanks to all of those who have sent crewing opportunities my way. If you have any trips from mid July onwards that require an additional crew I will be keen to hear about them. Thanks, James
