I have a Crescent Outboard that has done about 250 hours and has an ignition coil fail on it. I have been searching for a Technical manual or service manual for the Crescent 55hp Electric start and I can't find any info on it. The outboard was originally made in sweden and I think is the fore runner to the Archimedes Penta range then the Volvo Penta range. I'd be very grateful for any info on these outboards and very interested in a second hand ignition coil.

Indeed they were... Maybe best be trying here : clicky clicky as these guys have some experience with the 'older' outboard.

In 1973, Volvo Penta acquired outboard production from Monark-Cresent and the U-22, Monark and Archimedes became new products to the VP range in 73. Come the end of the 70’s compitions from the Japs was hot in the outboard world, subsequently VP finished with outboard motors.

Thanks for the link, I just had a look at Higham Marines website, I will fill in their email enquiry to see if they got an ignition coil for me. Thks.
