creaking warps

Well, there you go. You're not wrong. Well, almost. I've wrapped a bag around the warps and it's considerably reduced the creak, though it is still there, but at quite a soothing level now.

Plastic bag and some whipping twine, and all is well. Thanks.

long nylon & rubba snubbas on short lines.
we have had no warp noise or snubbing these past 4 days

I had a similar problem & tried most of the suggestions you've received, but to no avail - it was driving me nuts! Eventually, I discovered it was the rope itself (rather ancient multi-plait) that was squeaking each time it stretched. Funny thing is; now I know what it is it doesn't seem to bother me anymore...

I have a length of 6mm climbing rope, very stretchy, which i cats cradle around the boat to take tension off main mooring lines. Completely eliminates creaks and squeaks.

Not on my boat, we have it and won't be replacing it when it expires, even with padding it is still noisy.

I'm amazed. Genuinely. All our mooring ropes are multiplait and none of them ever squeak. Every time I have used a non multiplait, they have always squeaked.

I wonder if its down to the fibre they are made from? Or maybe the way they are lead over the gunwale?

Form a simple loop either with a splice , sewing or a bowline at the end of your shorelines. Hook each one over a boat cleat and adjust from the pontoon cleats. There is then much less line on your boat cleats and it reduces creaking.
