WHY DOES MY INTERNET CONNECTION KEEP CRASHING WHEN I AM IN THIS SITE ONLY?
WHY IS MY CENTRAL HEATING SO NOISY?
On a more constructive note, keep an MS DOS window open and when you think your internet connection has "crashed" switch to the MS DOS window and type in ping www.bbc.co.uk. If you get a reply you internet connection has not crashed but maybe your browser has locked up. Microsoft Internet Explorer requires frequent patching with service packs.

Pose this question in the website forum. However as stated you are probably still connected but just locking up. First thing is in your Browsers Tools ensure you are able to accept Cookies, secondly clear your Temporary Files Cache. You can always see if your connection is 'live' look bottom right of the screen, if you see two little computers then you are connected.

Only if you are on some connections ....... I don't use Dial Up - have DSL Pro in Offices and DSL Home at home ...... they show Nought !!!!
Best way for me to tell is the annoying advert box at top ! - with its little animations, other is the ICQ logo bottom right ..... if all green- OK

As Byron said, it's more likely that your privacy settings are too high. Which programme do you use, Internet Explorer, Netscape etc. etc.?
I've had adjust my settings to low and now have very few problems on this site.

You could be getting cut off if no activity for a pre set time by your service provider or in your settings.

cookies are little bits of info that the website deposits on your computer hard drive so that next time you go to that site it knows who you are and what info you are looking at (very general this but lets keep it simple)
IE has settings so that the more agressive sites cant get too "lo down and dirty" and as has been posted earlier you can change the settings to suit your self. my IE5 on win 98 here now is set at default and it doesnt have a prob. if you havent messed with your settings it is probably set at default also. the prob then is finding out why you are crashing, the illegal operations crash is caused by software trying to access different parts of memory that are already being used and can also be caused by bad memory (if it trys to access the bad part of the memory it crashes)
most frozen screen probs are caused by bad video cards or drivers OR stupid screen savers. and so it goes on, £35 an hr + VAT is what i charge if we want to go any further !!

You could also be running out of space in memory (RAM).
A very good FREE program that monitors RAM and frees up space if and when required is <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.sci.fi/~borg/rambooster/index.htm> RAMBOOSTER </A> it's done wonders for my pc's.

Fair reasoning, but it may well be that a high % of time is spent here, so it appears to be this site. If, that is, it is a FREEZE and not as stated a CRASH.
