My step monster has just started a video channel for the business, he's using a lot of arial shots and currently uses my old DJI 3 Pro.

Well a few weeks ago it 'just fell from the sky', hmmm. Anyway I told him to contact DJI and following a live chat and some tooing and froing of flight data and video footage, they asked for the drone back. It was totalled as the clip will show

A few days later DJI Europe, (whatever that is :) ), replied saying alt hat they would repair/replace foc.

It's now been received in the post, brand new.

So if you manage to have a similar incident, don't despair and give them a shout; it might save you a few quid.

Mine did exactly the same thing. I watched a propeller nut come off first then a few seconds later the propeller came off resulting in a fall from about 30 meters. Was your propeller nut and propeller missing after the crash?

Yup, +1, there are no prop nuts on P3. IIRC the P1 was the same. Dunno about P2; never had one of those.
There aren't any threads at all on p4 props - they attach with very neat little sprung bayonets

I've had one prop where the thread has become unsafe - won't tighten up completely.
So, I've scrapped it - also bought a handful of spare props on Ebay.
I wouldn't take the risk of a badly fitting prop.

Current thinking is that it's not good to take off from sand. There's some noise that suggests a sudden motor fail will induce an unthreading of a prop; not sure I go for that but the props were checked tight by a responsible adult and they were around 45 minutes old.

P4 is far better as JFM says.

I am glad that we were flying with DJI software and would be interested to know how they would have reacted were we to have been using third party; although DJI obviously released the sdk or source for third parties....

They never found the prop, funny watching cam half heartedly digging in the sand looking for it :)

Anyway, onwards and upwards, NPI
