On a post about Portland Bill a couple of days ago, I mentioned some video I'd taken there a few years ago (not from a boat I hasten to add).

T'is a bit crappy quality wise, but if you get bored for a few minutes, and have broadband, I've put it on the Google video site HERE

Me too...... It's a shame the video doesn't really do the conditions justice.

An even bigger shame is that the video I took of a Lifeboat ploughing through the middle of the race that day has been recorded over. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Yes, a shame, as I'd love to have seen it.

I spent hours watching the sea as a kid in West Wales, where the swell used to roll with nothing till you got to the USA. Some amazing storms, and the number of ships we saw sinking heading into Fishguard or the shelter of Newport Bay (in Cardigan Bay, not the big town in South Wales) was incredible thinking back , but as kids we thought it was quite normal

I did find a few stills I'd taken there on a different occassion, in similar weather, but with 4 or 5 "Grey Funnel" jobs pounding westwards......

Give us a shout when you're down there next and I'll drive down with the camera! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
