Cranchi v Windy

Anyone got experience of Cranchi Aquamarina 31 or Windy Typhoon 31?
Which are the best engine combinations for these boats, how do they fare re. seakeeping.
Intend to use for coastal cruising, cross channel dashes and watersport type activities.
Also would sleep/live aboard when cruising.
Any advice/info greatly appreciated.

Cranchi are OK and have a good name as far as I am aware, but Windy are the Mutts Nuts! Superb seakeeping and excellent build quality, you shouldn't go far wrong with one of these provided it has been looked after. As to engines, the biggest diesels you can get is probably a good rule of thumb. Even if you don't need all the performance, bigger engines will give more relaxed cruising than smaller ones at the same speed.

All the boat tests I've ever read about Windy boats and particularly this size rave about their handling and build quality so I think I would favour them ahead of Cranchi although I have no personal ownership experience of either model.
