Some users have been concerned with the security of the website. I am pleased to advise that this has been addressed and the site has been 'promoted' to Https://. Cox Engineering

There is no commercial involvement in the site - indeed it costs me a not inconsiderable amount to host it. I welcome useful contributions in all areas.

Yes, not cheap and I can't even say it's for business.

Thanks for the website, I've spent quite a lot of time on it reading and learning and find it to be a valuable resource. It's also to your credit that you listen to user feedback and take action to improve it. In this particular case I can't see how using a non-encrypted connection could pose a security threat. Worst case, a "man in the middle" would learn about the difference between brass and bronze!

Thanks for the compliment. A couple of people have told me that their computer protection did not like the site in its previous form. I had never found this with Windows 10 but since going to Windows 11 I experienced the same. Perhaps only for some other reason it seemed that requests for advice had diminished from the previous two or three per week. So I decided the time had come to do something.

I thought the same about encryption, as users have no need to enter any information into the site.

No - it's worse than that. Some man in the middle could change the content in mid-flight and make you believe that cheap brass seacocks are a good idea
