Plus1 we usually go to shepherds but they were full a couple of weeks ago, so we went to the vastly overpriced and over rated yacht haven, the staff were grumpy the toilets were a filthy disgrace with virtually no hot water.

Roll is irrelevant. Selfish people making noise at 0230 is more likely to be a problem for your little'un.

I love a monster p*ss up with the best of them and if people make a bit of noise clattering aboard with lots of 100 decibel "SSSHHHHHH!!!" and giggles I'll kinda let that go, we've all been there. But people then peeing off the pontoon next to your open forehatch and having cockpit parties in the small hours is less excusable.

FFS people I can recommend several great watering holes in Cowes and if you want to party after closing time Temptations nightclub in Newport is a good night. But maybe, just maybe the people who have paid good money for an expensive marina berth and have come back from the pub at a sensible time to ensure that they get some sleep to get away early to GO SAILING or make a long passage the next morning don't really want to hear you!

So yep, I'd definitely say E Cowes is a far quieter night!

Yep we had an extremley selfish party of partying Sunsail "race type?" fleet boats in yachthaven about 10 days after the Fastnet. 20 - 30 somethings & pretty yuppyfied especially the Irish & American guy who really thought they were funny. Ignored any plea for a bit of consideration.

We ignored it at 1st as did suspect may be late returnees from the Fastnet which would probably deserve bit of a Party but this lot were still being noisy As&)"%&s at 3.30 in the morning. Why the lead didnt say anything I dont know

+1 east cowes. Put their phone number in your mobile as they prefer that to channel 80 due to the concentration of marinas in the area.

Another vote for East Cowes, no question !

Good facilities, interesting place, short walk to the free chain ferry ( past a pretty good chippie on the way back, though the place in West Cowes I know well but brain-fade means I don't remember the name right now, someone will help is better if suits ); the stuff may stay hot until getting to Cowes Green to watch it all go by if timing fits in.

One of the many things I like about E Cowes - apart from the calm, lack of rolling - is that they put the forecast for the day up; though I must admit I did prefer the old visitors' enclave.

Interesting walks the other way into the Island too.

I believe their no. is 01983 293983 but do check.

Have Fun ! :)
