I m not going to be there to see the start, but what sort of time are the lead boats likely to be back in the Solent?
I was thinking of going out to watch the start, which would mean getting out of bed quite early, but having now seen the forecast for Saturday, I think I'm more likely to turn over and go back to sleep.![]()
In fairness, Selsey Bill to Lyme Regis is a large area to apply a blanket forecast to, and the wind around the headlands is going to be higher than in the shelter of the Solent, so I guess they're predicting worst case for the area. They've moderated their opinion somewhat - now saying 4-5-6. Metcheck and Windguru both seem to be implying 3 or 4 with an occasional bit of 5 in the Solent itself, so that's not entirely incompatible. Very neapy, so the effects of wind over tide will be muted. Mind you, as Epervier says, every time I've been out to watch the start of a CTC it's been mayhem anyway.....
Sorry - just talking to myself, really!![]()
Its blowing dogs off their leads now!
