I have not been to Cowes for a couple of years but was so unimpressed with Yacht Haven facilities last time that I decided to try the less convenient facilities of East Cowes Marina. Despite coinciding with the busy Festival weekend their bogs/showers were immaculate on Friday and still ok by Sunday. Organisation, booking and berthing arrangements first class.
The Lifeboat pub was excellent. Food super, prices reasonable, service great. A clean, well run establishment. I understand that it has been recently refurbished and is under new ownership. Highly recommended.

In contrast happened into a place called The Waterside in Cowes Saturday lunchtime. An absolute shambles.
Top prices being charged for sandwiches, as you would expect , given the touristy location. We waited over an hour for sandwiches that never appeared before getting a refund and leaving. We were not the only ones. Maybe we had a lucky
escape. The whole place was a bit sticky and nasty. Give it a wide berth.

If you want a nice little restaurant in Cowes go to Mojacs. Husband cooks, SWMBO is front of house good food, good atmosphere.

Note to self, must get in there again soon.

Oh! berth at Shepards Warf, just past the CYH.
