Has the advice changed? The Cowes website now says the chains are 1.5m below chart datum, so with a (say) 0.8m low water that's only 2.3m below the surface. We draw 2m so that's pretty close..... Has anyone experience with a deep draft boat at LW springs?

2M is on the margins of what I’d want to take up the river at LW. Some classics I have sailed on draw more, were moored at East Cowes Marina, and exercised caution. Just don’t plan your arrival at LW springs. And if you do, berth below the floating bridge.

Seen a Brixham trawler catch the chains…. Very messy

Recently went past at lws in a 1.9m deep boat owned by someone that knows the river very well. We ran aground at the Folley (on purpose). No issues at Cowes.
