Cowes advice...

CLOUD 9 is half way through her first tour of the Solent. We are currently in E. Cowes Marina (sheltering from the rain today). We leave tomorrow, and I have so far failed to discover whether there is an option to take a tender into town rather than use the Water Taxi or walk, crossing the river on the chain ferry. Im sure we will be back and it would be good to know if there is a tender pontoon of any sort? Any local knowledge gratefully received. Rick

I think you can park tenders on the pontoon in front of the HM building. You may have to pay.........

Yes, immediately south of the Red Jet pontoon. HM will charge you if he catches you. Likewise, Shepheards wharf would fit you in.

Uksa worth talking to. Cooked breakfasts to die for (or from- all that collesteral). 20 mins walk into town, perhaps walking off that breakfast

Yes i agree. I've often moored an inflatable dinghy there after coming down the river from East Cowes or the Folly. I've never been charged so far.
