I am having my engine control panel moved into my cockpit, it is a Vetus panel and supposedly IP64, I would like to give it a little more protection from feet and weather. I found these on a US site,

http://seaworthygoods.com/panelvisorpics.html

I can not find something similar in the UK, does anyone have any suggestions for a UK or EU equivalent product?

Any one who fabricated items in perspex or polycarbonate should be able to make something similar including hinges

I have has several perspex covers made like that covering cockpit instruments.

Try a local sign maker.

I moved the engine panel on my Sadler 29 from down below to the aft face of the bridge deck. Made a shallow box with iroko sides and plywood bottom, cut a big rectangular hole in the bottom and attached the engine panel to it so that it was recessed a couple of inches. Araldited a perspex cover to protect about two thirds of the panel and protected the rest with a removable perspex panel which slid upwards behind the fixed cover and was retained by two domed wood screws which projected upwards slightly from the bottom side of the iroko frame. The removable cover had a semicircular notch which you could hook a finger into to lift and remove it in order to insert the key.. This all served me well for about 14 years after which I sold the boat. The whole idea of the panel being below mystified me ....no chance of a quick engine start from the helming position and no sight of the rev. counter from there either.

I have a nice US-made one which I had sent across but never used. GRP recess with hinged perspex cover and catch. Yours for twenty quid plus postage.

I'll take it any way, how much for postage to Sussex?

Hi, I tried to message you but your inbox is full! Said the Bishop.

I've just found the thing - it got lost in a house move. If you're still interested, fire me a PM. Mailbox should be accepting now.

I also made my own when I fitted a new engine years ago - I used the original recessed box fitted with the new control panel and then I made a Perspex hinged panel with a finger recess in each lower corner. Works well, not fully weatherproof as there is a gap all round, two stainless hinges at the top. The Perspex was left over when I replaced the windows.

Just get a piece of heavy duty window material (used in the spray hood windows). Cut it to shape and it works fine. Easy to replace when due.
