I want to send a TMP gearbox to a fellow forumite. It weighs 50kg and has dimensions of 30x40x50cm.
I checked on my interparcel site and found that a palleted item had to be shrink wrapped which I cant do.
I then checked if I could send it as an ordinary parcel and was surprised to see ( after putting in that weight and dimensions that I could.
I would propose to fasten it down to a ply base and then cover the sides and top with packaging, cling film and cardboard.
It is a blinking heavy parcel and I wonder if the driver will be happy to lift it ( its a strain for me but I am approaching 80!)
has anyone else any experience with this sort of package?
