Back at my desk I see the commemorative stone was laid on the 70th anniversary of D-Day (thank you Mrs Patterson for your kind works). On Google streetmaps you can see my stone on which the by-law plaque was. (Different shape)

Don't forget Bruce the current harbourmaster was appointed in 2015
Maybe the previous chap was 'Over the Top'?
Looking at Conwy Borough Councils current marine stuff, by laws, harbour rules/guidlines etc there is nowt about the fines and such like you mentioned
CLB's observations and comments on IRPCS and Solas and His writings ref how various Harbours interperating rules to suit their Harbours etc are correct and sensible. As we all know a lot of leisure boat users don't know or comprehend the 'Rules' as they are anyway!!!

Yes. Tony Mead was replaced my Matthew Forbes in 2015. Possibly. But I am gutted that stone is no longer there because the fines were horrendous. I'm sure I must have mentioned it here previously because it's been a talking point of mine in a few topics. Fines of 50k IIRC for failing to have working nav lights. I made sure I always carried spare bulbs.

Oh FFS. Nevermind

I already know what was written. I used to come back on my tender from my mooring holding a white all round light up high until my arms ached after nightfall when I first started out there. I'll ask if they know what happenned to the stone though, I'd still love to get a photo of it.

OTT he may have been but the river was at least patrolled and was orderly. Now days we get all sorts dragging a wake behind them, bashing into my pontoon and raiding my vessel of tea and biccy

I have no clue or idea whatsoever as to the performance/actions/of the previous Harbourmaster
My only reference to Him was to say He was replaced in 2015 which coincided with the last time you seem to have seen 'The Stone of Information' As to the River being 'orderly'?
I wouldn't know
At 25 kts I never seem to see much happening!

I hear now the marina has extended the number of berths , the river is being cleaned up and all leis vessels must use the marina, except people residing within the walls ie a Raven.

There’s another thread about inhull Transducers and my experience is there’s no need to start drilling holes to fit a sounder. Just mount it horizontally in silicon. Works fine
