they used to have big BP sunflower logos on them.......

What happens if they discover a humungous oilfield under the Solent ?

not usually a fan of the Superyachts but actually i think that is very stylish!

too flash for me, I'll stick to my Mitchell even if the thing was given to me....

I imagine the rectangular panel on the port side towards the stern would reveal a pretty large tender garage & the one towards the bow a balcony of some description... all pretty flash

There are two of those big ribs near Saxon Warf and 4 just down past the chain ferry in Cowes.

From what's written on the side on them I think they have been used by BP in the Cayman islands to go to and fro oil rigs in the gulf of Mexico.

Looks like they've come to the end of their life out there and been sold over here.

We circled the superyacht yesterday (flagged in George Town; irritatingly I have forgotten her name) and I thought it was a real beaut. Also saw the orange RIBs- oil field support looks right. Also Red Jet 6, made in East Cowes, with its snazzy paint job, outside Venture Quays.

Those Ribs are rescue boats i think by the look of them.. They have little hospitals onboard and the bridge is like the SS Enterprise. Was one in the marina for a week exactly the same with BP on it. They were working out of Lowestoft for BP/Stat oil. 80ft long they were.

Just to add another snippet of information - the catamaran with one fat mast is an Aerorig, the whole thing revolves on a big bearing at the bottom. Forumite SnowLeopard has something similar.

No idea about the one with two masts like a Rugby post, and the black barque is a new one on me too.

Pete

Funny that, when I saw the second cat' my immediate thought was "I wonder if that's a set of floating rugby posts for AAMI Park?"

We tucked in behind that superyacht as we came out of the Hamble on Friday and followed her over to Cowes. Not sure where she came from - maybe Saxon Wharf?

Nice looking vessel.
