So Gary, what are you going to do when you want to buy some niger seed for the gold finches in your garden? Niger is a small black seed, not unlike rape seed but a bit longer and flatter, has to be fed in special feeders which only gold finches have the beak to fit! Not, of course, to be confused with the double 'g' version who according to the nursery rhyme gets caught by his toe.
