Costs Down to Mistaken Survey Finding

Interesting replies. I tend to agree with the idea of saying you investigate, if anything's wrong I'll fix it but that's being wise after the event - it isn't something that readily springs to mind unless you've been caught before, few of us are much if any experienced in selling boats. Pity the broker didn't suggest that.
Refueller's point above is exactly my viewpoint, but it looks like I'll just have to swallow this one.
 
The problem with that is that the seller always has the option to say no and look for another buyer. Saying, "You arrange it and, if there's anything wrong, I'll sort it" might have worked, but if the boat sold, I think I'd just be happy to see it gone.

Its works both ways ... buyer can move on to another boat having upset this one !!

Seller can say - no and wait for another buyer ... incurring even more delay and fees.

Its a vicious circle ..... which I cannot help but feel could have been avoided if a serious chat had been held BEFORE calling in the 'engineer' .... basically agreeing who pays etc.
