Been on a course over the w/e and could not get back from Poole (by boat) last night, so I've just picked this up - My Yamaha is 170hp. I can get a new one for £10.5 plus VAT and fitting! And its not a million miles away from you either!

The price I was quoted included fitting (including having the transom relaminated to allow for the difference between the exsting VP leg and the new Yamaha) and all the VAT. I can can get a Yamaha 370sti package for £10,500 plus VAT plus fitting.

Secondly, I fine your response to my posting as being "a load of tosh" and "only a fool would pay anything like" as offensive. The post was made in good faith based on actual discussions with a dealer. You could easily have made your point without resorting to the use of such inflamatory langauge - after all you then outlined the situation based on your "inside knowledge" well.
Oh, by the way does your £14.5k cost for the Yanmar 300 + Bravo 3 leg include VAT and fitting? If not then the cost is £17,0375 plus fitting!
