Re:Checklists

Have got various checklists created over the years, including the one mentioned (nicked the idea for its design from my mum's 'I want three pints today' message card for the milkman that dropped over an empty bottle - ours was designed to be hung on the throttle).

If there's interest I'll dig out the material and post it next week.

Also have major lay-up and fit-out lists too.

Re:Checklists

Still got that particular freebie upstairs Kim! Never did take it to the boat, have always made a habit every day of checking water, oil etc and turning everything off at end of the day, it's now all second nature.

Wossit something I sed?

Axshully I thort at first he was under the influence when he made that post, but then I noticed it was made about 7pm and I thort he couldn't be that abusively drunk at such an early hour, hence got my flamethrower out..... but praps I was wrong? Any way, as it turns out, he was ialcohol-fueled, see his admission in his other "apology" thread

Re: Wossit something I sed?

and so he should have appologised!!

He is probably a grease monkey on VP's payroll and therefore has a somewhat vested interest.

Maybe that's why Dom's engine blew, build & fitted by dipsomanical vp engineers?

yada yada..

Re: not 7pm

jfm shd note that it wasn't 7 pm but 19 mins 47seconds past midnight, about the correct time for starting a badly-typed virtual fight.

Not sure bout the engine manufacturers, but I must admire their excuses for the VP engine going pop.

Night on the tiles in Lincolnshire

Ah thanks, sorry didn't read the time proply. So, conclusively proved that Stamfordian was totally rat @sed. Actually I should have guessed, the only time mrs jfm and I ever visited Stamford, we stayed in a hotel actually on the high st shown on Stamfordian's picture; it was dead quiet all evening then about 20 mins past midnight (+ or - 13 seconds) a whole load of drunken yobs started maing a complete racket with lekky guitars in the hotel for the next 2 hours. Spooky coincidence

Re: you and Harold\'s army

stamford eh? I wd only go there when completely lost, and it sounds a reciope for disaster to meet there, with "stamford bridge" either being somewhere in yorkshire and/or west london.

Well I can answer, my engine was new in 1999 AD31 with a 290e outdrive unit and yes it has the two black rubber flaps to prevent water ingress, during liftout I tend to clean them up and remove bits of marine life.

I guess ALL outdrive legs have flaps it makes so much sense, but maybe Volvo decided they aren't nesscary on certain outdrives - Oh maybe that's why Dom has the problem - will take Volvo some time to work it out!
