Hi,

This is a real long shot, but does anyone have to hand the PDF of corrections for the Leisure folio SC5611 West Coast? I only bought the folio a few weeks ago, and now the buggers have sprung a new edition - so only corrections after 27th March 2007 are available. The agent ordered the folio in for me, and there was no indication that a new edition was imminent.

By the way, I wonder why they don't publish a schedule for upcoming new editions? That's what's done with airmaps, you can quickly see the date of the current edition and the expected date of the next planned edition. On the Admiralty web site they don't show the date of the current edition.

Anyone else? I presume the big change is to WGS84 for the source charts and I don't really give a toss but there may be some changes between the update and the re-issue. At least most of the rocks won't have moved!

[/ QUOTE ]I can't see anything exactly relevant there, although I'm not sure what you're directing me to, so I could be missing it.

The NMs published from there don't cover the Leisure Folios. On the Admiralty Leisure web site they specifically say they don't publish NMs except for the current edition (which is 27th March in this case).

I guess I could work out a list of all the standard charts that cover the area in the same or similar scales, and look out the corrections for those, but that seems like it might be an error prone exercise as well as time consuming.

Sorry, Gandy - Starboard is beginning to annoy me!

Why don't you try what you suggest, go looking, receive the message: "NOTE: Chart updates in this series are not included in the "nmwebsearch.com" database. For updates to Small Craft Folios please refer to the instructions on the UKHO Leisure Website." Then go to the UKHO Leisure website and find that they only have updates for current series not for previous issues. Or you could just believe a fellow forumite.

From memory, this applies to normal charts also - i.e. NMs are available back to 2000 on the web only for charts which have not been reissued. On a new issue, the history is lost.

I have a pdf of corrections from December 2006. Is that recent enough to be useful? PM an email address and I will send it to anyone that wants it; might not be until next week as I am going away soon. The file is about 700k.

I only wish I did! I empathise and sympathise with Gandy as I feel ripped off by the UKHO and their Leisure Folios too. The search of the web sites was fruitless for us both (and for anyone else similarly affected). I am just glad that I printed off the corrections in March when I bought the charts. I still haven't got round to incorporating them though.

Love the old maps, its just a shame they don't let us download a proper image.

Reminds me of Admiralty chart 5077. Loch Lomond. I ordered this a few years ago and the edition I received was dated 1861. I was ripped off then as well, because the Admiralty lists a December 1862 edition, and they don't have any corrections published

I'm very pleased that Gandy posted this "long shot", because I had previously rather lazily assumed that I would be able to access corrections to all recently purchased charts. I bought my copy of SC5611 last September to prepare for a trip North this year, and have been caught unawares like Gandy and others.

I'm off now to the UKHO site to download the pdf correction files for my other folios. I wonder if there is software available to update my downloads on a regular basis, automatically? (But then I suppose the software would overwrite the last pdf file for the old edition with the first file for the new, and I would be no better off.)

I seem to recall that the UKHO said that if you purchased the folio recently, they would replace it with the new edition FOC.
Ask your chart agent. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
