Hi Folks,

We're off to Cornwall on the boat next week. I'm going to need to hire a car for a couple of days either from Fowey or Falmouth. Can anyone recommend a local hire car company who offer competitive rates.

Thank you.

Just really the nationals. I think that Avis has an office in Falmouth Marina. Enterprise are good as their depot is in Penryn, the town adjoins Falmouth, and they will come and collect you to take you to the office - or they did pre Covid, don't know now. Either way it is an easy taxi ride away. Most of the other companies are based in Truro which is about 15 miles away. That said, Hertz are at Truro Station and you can catch the train on the Falmouth branch line to Truro.
Hope that this helps.

We rented from Enterprise in Penryn when we visited Mylor a couple of years ago, they picked us up and dropped us off at the marina, was all very easy and good service. It worked out at about £60/day with the insurance extras etc.

And if you stay at Mylor you are looking at my farm to the NW across the mouth of the creek

Not bad but not amazing. It was built in 1760 so as so many were back then, built for shelter rather than views. That said, We look across our fields and down to Restronguet Point and Loe Beach across the water from out landing window and down the valley to the Carrick Roads and the Roseland from the kitchen and the garden room. so not bad really.
If you are interested, go onto Facebook and put in Restronguet Barton. I regularly put up pictures taken from around the farm.

Never had a bad service from Enterprise. Usually Truro or an airport based depot. Most recently I got a car from Glasgow Airport and was due to return it there but plans changed and I drove back to home in Cornwall and the Truro office collected it. They also don't mind about point, whereas Avis won't hire to you if 6 or more including recently "spent" ones (bad experience late at night at an airport).
