I see MBY will be featuring the Cormate (Norwegian for Cormorant) next month. I remember we had the factory T27 demonstrator for a weeks trial some 9yrs ago to evaluate whether we were going to have it in our sales line up.
It has a beautifully designed cockpit and deck which is part walk around part speedboat, and a somewhat minimalistic funky cabin, but not everyone liked the heads which is under a bench in the cabin and didn't feel very private.
I remember it seemed to take a long time to plane no doubt due to the 25deg deadrise, it handled and tracked well , but once you got it over 50knots it balance was easily upset by waves it had a tendency to chine walk meaning you had to pull the power back. I don't know if they have improved things as its 3 yrs since I last drove one which had a Mercruiser 320hp diesel which was a bit stern heavy and didn't crack 50 knots compared to the petrol V8 I tested earlier. The engine access is one of the best I have seen as the entire rear deck/seat moulding tilts forward so the whole engine back to the transom is exposed.
A refreshing design which certainly stands out from other boats in its class, and perfect for a high speed dash out to one of the hundreds of islands along the coast for a days sunbathing or a cosy overnight for two.
