Nice article. I was lucky to cross the canal 4 times. 3 times during the nigjt (quite scary) and once during daylight (absolutely beautiful).

Good to know it has just reopened to yachts, even if only temporarily.

And a decent account with excellent pics.

But my sailing plans this year were made on the assumption it would stay closed.

According to several Facebook groups it has now closed again due to a landslide unfortunately

The Corinth Canal SA, would like to inform our customers and partners that the restoration works are in progress and that according to the official schedule of the Ministry of Infrastructure & Transport, the canal will be available for navigation from the 5th of July until the end of October 2022, where restoration work will continue.
In case the Corinth Canal could be able to reoperate earlier than the above date, we will return with a new Press Release.

We went through two years ago, behind a towed tanker named "KAPTAN ERDOGAN"

Great experience and I'd say the views were worth the high fee! When you go in to pay, make sure you take a look at the canal construction photos hanging on the office walls.
