coper based antifoul with outdrives

The drives are alloy and the micron antifoul contains copper, is this a recipe for disaster or will it be ok if I leave a gap around the transom plate?

I've asked the same question and have been shown & have subsequently also seen that a margin is left around outdrives.

A 1" gap between the outdrive and the copper based antifouling is usually recommended
