Copenhagen marinas during the summer

It is some years since I was there I'm afraid. We stayed at the Christianshavn which is the most central. It is in a backwater in a fairly seedy part of town, which adds to the interest. It may have been more developed since we were there and probably gets busy in season but would be my first choice. There is another marina by the castle which I think is called Langelinie. This looks more sophisticated. Copenhagen is quite spread out, so this would be nearer the Royal Palace area. A mile or two away is Flakfortet, which is an artificial island and a great place to chill out. There are few facilities and mostly no power but it has its charm and is a place where locals come by ferry in the evenings to party at the restaurant.

I don't know if you know the place. You will have to join the crowds and pay your respects to the Mermaid of course. There are lots of street scuptures by a Columbian artist which I admired. The Tivoli gardens are quite fun, as is the nearby Apollo brewhouse. My favourite place is the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek scupture and art gallery near the gardens and worth an extended visit.

+1 for Christianshavn. Booking in advance is essential in high season:
Wilders Plads Marina
A fairly recent bridge for pedestrians/cyclists over to the Nyhavn/Amalienborg area has made this harbour even more central than before.
