I am still in the middle of rebuilding my galley and finally now have the room to install a fridge. Can any one point me in the direction of celotex type insulation that is laminate faced, this will enable me to build the box in situ and have a reasonably wipe clean interior

I have looked at having a polyethelene moudling made but i will not be able to fit it where the fridge location is going to be.

It seems that my only option is going to be to make it in situ.

Any help gratly appreciated

thanks

I've used a product available from Screwfix, B&Q, Wickes etc. It is a foil coated bubble wrap on a roll, used for insulating roofs etc. It is about 3mm thick and gives the equivalent of 55mm of polystyrene, for each layer you use. I've used it to insulate my cool box and under my headling to insulate the coachroof, I am going to use it on the hull sides next. It has class O fire resistant rating and can be wiped clean.

G'day Shaun,

Having built a few of these over the years the first thing is make sure the insulation material is good quality, check it's thermal capability. I have found it's often cheaper to go for the thick (3 inch) thermal foam rather than the thin so called high tech materials.

Foam is very easy to cut and can be bent to any shape then glued into position prior to adding generous gussets for strength and easy cleaning then glassing.

If you need more info let us know.
