Trouville - you\'re completely Potty

(hopefully your post is a complete windup).

Volatile liquid cooking fuel is a complete nono - in the words of Mr. Enfield junior, I say No,No,No.

How old are you - can you remember a Primus stove, are you old enough to have been a Cub / Scout - and then it was paraffin. If you must a proper gas stove, hopefully with a flame failure device. Even charcoal in a confined space is bad (I'm thinking BBQ topsides if you must).

Heavens, does nobody have any sense nowadays.

Dear, oh dear, oh dear; must go and lie down.

At school we used to refer to petrol cooker flare-ups as an "Ekofisk" for reasons that will be obvious if your memory is good and you are old enough, suffice to say it was black schoolboy "humour". Glad to see you have come to an (IMHO) sensible conclusion....

Re: Trouville - you\'re completely Potty

/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Certainly not a wind up! Just attempting to fit out my new boat which is challenged for space.

I thought i could throw the gas bottels overboard and still have an efficent compact cooking set up. Of course ill have to wait untill shes in the water before throwing anything overboard!!!

You all and my insurance agent have convinced me there may be a case for not going down the "petrol cooker" route.

Another question, i have a 1946 Folkboat, up to now shes been a day sailer not a liveabord as i intend her to be.

Where can i fit the washing machine, fridge, shower heater, and 6kw generator for a glass ceramic hob????

I do remember the scouts and the primus stove, which is why we always lit a fire! I also remember a scout who carried a petrol cooker, it was small and he could always find fule. I found one secondhand but only managed to burn myself never actually got it going? In the cubs we only lit fires!
