I thought that dielectric materials conducted by some other mechanism, yes they insulate, but something else happens and electrons move across. This is all I remember from school and something to do with capacitors. So maybe the grease has this property. I am out my depth.

There's no question that "dielectric" means non-conductive under DC conditions. The confusion comes from the fact that a dielectric effectively conducts under AC conditions - a capacitor is transparent, if you like, to AC.
Regarding the case in point the manufacturers are extolling the virtues of it being a dielectric and hence not causing unintended short circuits. It does, however, make you wonder whether it can creep between contacts and cause problems ...apparently not.

I missed out on that one. Should have seen this thread earlier

Sorry about that, my order just arrived this morning. I limited my order to 2 tubes but told a few other people before posting the link in case someone tried to buy up all the remaining stock. I had hoped that they would have enough left to supply a few forumites. I'll be interested to see if any pops up on eBay in the next week or so.

Only one person selling 75g tubes on eBay at present. They are asking £800.89 per tube although delivery is free. I think that even Nigel' love of Contralube wouldn't let him buy at that price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CONTRALUBE-ELECTRONIC-ELECTRICAL-CONNECTOR-PROTECTOR-/271081551338

I expect he'll correct it unless it's some sort of deliberate con. I'll publish the reply here, probably no a good idea if 50 people ask the same question. He might not realise the demand if it was posted in error.

A google revealed at least one more supplier at £8.60 for 75gm. Hopefully this one goes through

Good find, I thought that £8.04 incl. delivery was great price and £8.60 is excellent given low stock available at old prices. I hope it arrives quickly. All the other suppliers I found were either out of stock of very expensive. Good to know that I missed at least one.

I had a reply from the eBay seller and price is set as £800.09 because he is out of stock, no surprise there. I think that he just left it as a place marker until he could get new stock.

I have used Corrosion Block for some years which is excellent. It comes in grease and spray liquid form.I use it on all my electrical connections.I have no trouble with the anchor windlass plug
or any of the other connections. No connection just a satisfied customer,

You b*ggers.
Ordered two tubes before 8:00 this morning.
Just had call from them to say they've sold out overnight!
Over 50 tubes.
There's no need to be greedy :)

I ordered two tubes this morning as well. It would have been after 8am, but they haven't contacted me to say it's not available. Now I don't know whether I need to look elsewhere or not...

+1 At least he is being partially fair "Very surprisingly overnight we have sold 168 tubes, however our stocks were limited to 143!".
