Mirage has a new continuous furling line that has not been fitted to her or spliced. Time on the boat is still at a premium, so can I splice this together at home at then fit it on board? Or is it 'spliced into place'? Her furling system is the Selden Type RA I think: http://www.seldenmast.com/files/595-059-E.pdf and she has Rutgerson rope clutches.
Hmm, looks pretty hopeless: "If deck lead blocks are used we recommend those with removable sheaves from seldén mast. A pre-spliced endless loop can be threaded through them."
Secondly, is this the correct method?
