Hi all!

I have a Garmin 128 GPS. It is currently connected to the power and to my DSC VHF. I now wish to connect it to my laptop which has navigational software loaded on it. My laptop will only need to receive NMEA data in, it doesn't have to "speak back". I understand I would have to connect my GPS via the Serial Port.

Can anyone tell me where to connect a serial cable with relation to current connections? Also, what pins of the serial cable should be connected?

Any help at all on this subject, would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Although for the garmin 128, black is ground, blue is nmea out and brown nmea in.
