Connecting 5mm fuel hose (2mm id) to a CAV filter head

I think you may be able to use plastic tube if it has sufficient wall thickness/ rigidity such as that supplied with an Eber' in a compression fitting.
That's what my Ebberspacher piping does (but it's 4mm OD not 5, not that this should make it less rigid!). Compression fittings compress an olive onto the pipe which I think will work quite well even with mildly deformable pipe provided it's round.

FYI worrying about the heater starving the engine of fuel, the little pump passes around 0.2ml every pulse

Well, the heater is here, just waiting for exhaust/ducting/thru hull/bracket etc from autoterm.de

Still no idea how I am going to get fuel to it, but will start with the mickey mouse external tank that comes with the kit, just to get it working.

Hello webcraft, what fitting did you get in the end?
I'm in the same situation now
If I remember correctly, the tank feed is a steel pipe with a bend on the top. It is joined to the thin hose with a short piece of rubber hose and two clamps. Seems if you can get a thin CAV filter exit pipe, the rubber hose from the likes of Bulter Technik would solve the problem. They are incredibly helpful every time I speak with them.

Erm.... didn't connect to the CAV filter head in the end, just used a T-piece...

Thank you for the reply anyway.
In the end I got myself a "Banjo eye union kit for cav296 fuel filter head 1/2 UNF thread c/w 6mm hose tail" from a well known auction website, from R D Diesels. Test fitted it yesterday and looks like it will work. A bit tight with the rubber hose ID of about 4mm but should be fine.
