Compressor whine KAD

Yes they are and yes you are quite correct except I replace pulleys with belts as after a time the bearings go and I have never heard a reduction in that noise. That SC whine has always been there and never changed and sounds exactly the same on both engines as the video can confirm when you hear the damn things in stereo. I am pretty sure this is an issue with all first gen SC blown KAD engines and the evolution of the manifold silencing system seems to back this up. The first gen has no silencer and thin walled large constant internal diameter aluminium tubing, 2nd gen had varying ID pneumatic hose while the 3rd and final gen was small ID steel pipe with silencing box fitted. Why this change if not to silence the whine? I'm hoping this is the case and as the pneumatic hosing is relatively cheap I have taken a punt to see if it offers some noise mitigation and if so hopefully enough to be more tolerable.

On the later model KAD engines the manifold tube between compressor and air-box and air-box to turbo is of all steel construction with O ring connections. It also has a silencer between air-box and turbo. These compressors are subsequently comparatively quiet in comparison to the manifold of the early KADs which is thin walled aluminium tube with hose connectors. Mine are the early KADs, 42's and when the compressor kicks in they scream like banshee's.
(No my compressors are not on their last legs / sticky vanes etc)

My question is there was an interim period between the two designs where the compressor to air-box was all pneumatic hose.

Part 30 as opposed to part 20 in the diagram.

Was this implemented in part or whole to reduce the whine noise? They are cheap (where as the KAD 44 and above system is going to set me back a couple of k to upgrade) so I ordered a pair as a punt but am curious to know if anybody can share any light on the issue?

Well the parts arrived today from Marinepartseurope.com and what I got was D3 exhaust hosing sleeve with a completely different part number and charged double the price for the honour. :D

Marinepartseurope, whild handy for diagrams, are very expensive.

I find Prior Diesel excellent for both price and communication.

Funny you should say that. Right now I am finding their communication rather obstinate. They insist I ordered the wrong part. I am hoping it's a language barrier but we shall see.
