Composite topsides

Can anybody enlighten me on the nature of "Composite structure" (suitable for a 60 foot motor yacht) how it is created and of what, how it is clued and filled and finished, means of obtaining compound curves etc is this going to tke over from CRP?

Not specific enough IMHO

can be anything from a composite of GRP with aluminium honeycomb between the layers up to full carbon fibre and plastic thing baked in an oven like an F1 car so it rather depends

Couldnt see too well as looking interestedly from a distance but forms the whole of a large "deck house"12 meteres and fly bridge including Radar arch. mounted on a steel hull.

Not sure what you mean by CRP, but a composite structure is basically one which is made up from a number of constituent parts. For example GRP glass reinforced fibre would be the main strength and it is cured with a resin (this resin is the plastic bit) carbon fibre could be used instead (but way more expensive) of glass mat this too has the resin. These are then layed-up into a mould and between a collection of inner plies and outer plies a henycomb 'core' is placed this gives thickness to the structure and hence stiffness.
All plastic/GRP boats are have composite structures, the most lighweight yet strong,yet stiff,yet cost effective method of making boats
