As many of you may be aware, hundreds of boats are expected to take part in this year's Commonwealth Flotilla on the River Clyde on Saturday and I jst wondered if any of you were taking part or planning to watch the event?

Thanks, I thought that this was the most read yachting fora in the country - obviously wrong. Or the wrong country.

We'll be there on a friends boat as the logistics and holidays precluded us going on our own boat so I'll be one of the relaxed crew on Aquasmart able to enjoy the event with no responsibility!

I suppose that as it's not a Solent based event, it's not that news worthy down south..... :)

Where has it been publicised?

It was lead news on PBO part of this website yesterday. However the problem has been more of having to turn potential participants away, rather than trying to publicise participation more widely. Limit was 250 boats I think, all going by motor rather than sail or oar, which takes away the interest a bit for a voyage.
 
But there's been feeder races, feeder cruises in company, and several such events leading to the gathering Friday night ready for Saturday up the river.
Twitter, Facebook, website, radio, TV, forums, seems to have been well publicised here.
