Commissioning the fresh water system

Regarding bottled water ... its interesting that a number of well known brands are actually NOT natural spring waters ... but factory produced.
In our local Supermarket ... the 60 cent 5ltr is natural ... but the next shelf has a well known brand 1.5ltr bottle at 2x the price .... its not natural water but gassed in a factory.
Because we use the water for making coffee and the dog we use still water. Some of the cheap stuff says spring. But that is not the concern, it’s sterile which is the main consideration. Indeed some spring water isn’t that pleasant to drink.

At the start of each season I empty the tank and I refill it (500L stainless tank) with fresh water from the pontoon hose after letting it run for a minute or two I then dose with Aquasol liquid steriliser available from a well known Chandlery towards Beaucette.

We normally use the boat for weekends away and I dose it in the same way when I get back to Guernsey.

If we are away on the boat I don't dose it till I get home.

Saying that drinking water we use bottled, and for cooking or tea we use a 2 gallon plastic can which we fill up from the tap on the pontoon.

In the Swedish Eastern Archi ... there's a stop that is popular where all tie up to trees and ashore is an old hand pump for deep bore hole water. The taste is crisp and BLOODY cold !!

But I have to say and I know others who have been with me there agree ... there is something about the water that just tastes RIGHT.
