We'll be leaving our berth here in darkest Kent about 1200 today, heading for the Pyefleet probably this evening.
Entering Tollesbury on lunch-time tide Saturday for Moody Owners event, leaving there midday Sunday and then maybe overnight at W.Mersea.
Then off back home leaving early Monday.
31-foot AWB, name of Cornsilk. Venturing into foreign forumite land, if you see us give us a wave!

be careful ..ere be dragons!
Enjoy our river but don't tell the others!
Mind you do not fancy the weather forecast on Sunday
If you do not already know -call YC1 on 37 to get a mooring at Mersea

Thanks for the Mersea tip, cookieboy, saw that in err ahem cough 'East Coast Pilot' !
Well we trundled to the Blackwater on Friday, hardly a breath of wind all the way, 7 hours engine run to the Pyefleet. Lovely quiet night on anchor just W of the moorings, then a nice couple of hours sailing on Saturday, ending up at Tollesbury at midday.
Not having been for a few years it was nice to be reminded of what a grand place Tollesbury is. Nice staff, friendly berth-holders, great club, all really family friendly - we had an excellent time.
In view of Monday's forecast we set off for home mid-afternoon on Sunday, not ideal for the tide but needs must. Nice sail as far as the Spitway (where did everyone go late Sunday afternoon? Suddenly the place was deserted!) then wind on the nose, motored all the way back to the Swale, arrived 2250, sat on a mooring at Harty until 0015, then into the creek and our mud berth.
There was supposed to be a westerly breeze, supposed to be thunder-showers..... wrong..........sometimes I wonder why I listen to forecasts...even today is not nearly as windy as they promised.
Just a quick visit, then, we enjoyed it, thanks to all the locals for letting us share your delightful river!

Harumph. Postponed bringing the boat home to Swale from Orwell at weekend cos weather allegedly poor and Keeling's service suggested Tues Wed light winds, sun and not SW for once but hey ho it's horrible outside and Met suggests the odd 8 at times. Already brassed off with thumb-twiddling. Mind you -got to use the estuary guide last week. Neat piece of work.
