Colvic are no more.
Sadly.
They made loads of different boats.
Lots were 'home finish'

Are You alluding to the 'Motor Sailor' type?
Colvic Watsons?

I noticed from Your Proflie that You have had 'Quick' boats in the past.
Are You looking to slow down:D

yep slow down & long distance, its an age thing

so were they made in th UK

no its not a sail boat - displacemt motor boat

Sorry just read Your Post again.

OK.
Colvic Trawlers.

Decent Motorsailors, if that is Your Bag.

Then agin as I posted before.
Colvics made loads of different Vessels.
They did do a pure 'Motor Yacht' No sails attached.

Going from memory here :o Colvic moulded hulls for a range of vessels (power / sail / commercial), didn't do the fit outs themselves. These were either sold for DIY or to boatyards for proffessional fit out. Some boatyards were better / more succesful than others (ie Northshore).

Memory again, I believe that their were 2 boatyards that completed the Trawler Yachts, Beta being one of them. A fair model run between them, and I don't recall having heard any stories that their was anything fundamentally wrong with them - pretty much what you see, a heavy small trawler yacht. Engines I think varied, although what the fuel consumption is like when going semi-displacement god only knows!

But I have only been on one the once, and that was tied up in a marina - my thoughts were nice, but smaller inside than I would have thought in the same way as a Grand Banks is.

Some were professionally completed. Possibly the most the most common ones being those fitted out by Jarmans at Conyer. Sadly like Colvic long since ceased to exist. (I don't in fact think that Colvic themselves ever built a complete / finished "Beta" just the bare hull/deck)

I am sure I have seen a Colvic trawler yacht, a bit Trader looking, with a displacement hull, however, I might be mistaken?

This is a Colvic Beta

This is a Fairways Marine Trawler (although I recall the hulls were usually yellow / beige).

Pretty sure that both were on the same hull / design, but not sure if both moulded by Colvic - I beleive the difference in lengths 38/39 - 42' is down to any bathing platform / anchor overhangs rather than any hull difference...........but I've been wrong before, and the only thing certain is that I will be wrong again at some point :D
