I have a very old late 70’s Colnebrook roller furler on my new to me boat, near the end of this season I had a few issues when unfurling my gib and it getting stuck near the end with the furling line feeder arm spinning around the furling drum creating a tangle. Does anyone have any old maintenance guidance documents so I can work out how to fix this issue and service it now my boat is out of the water. Many thanks

thank you much appreciated

I damaged a foil on mine two years ago and the insurers wrote it off and replaced it. I serviced the Colnbrook every winter and would not have changed it otherwise as although basic by modern standards it was well made, strong and worked.
I still have a few foils if you are in need of one

As said above, the arm with the eye for the furling line is secured with a grub screw but it can slip. As a back up I have a permanent, short 4mm pendant between the eye and the adjacent pulpit stanchion to prevent rotation of the arm. This set up has worked fine for me for past 30 years.
I like the old Colnebrook reefing system - one less halyard coming down the mast.

As I recall the only maintenance required was to check the upper bearing and to lubricate the lower through the small hole at the end of the f A drop of PTFE sprayed into the slot of the foil also helps when fitting and removing the sail - also used on the main mast slot- just a little does the job and no mess or stains o sails.
