I am desirous of crotcheting a sampler to hang in the saloon next to the pot pourri to remind me of my duties under CR. Does anyone have a pattern they can let me have?
Are you sure that a sampler would really be appropriate? The rigid frame could prove inconvenient in the boisterous conditions of a seaway. An embroidered drape or tapestry would be a much more stylish and practical alternative.
Think it more a case of read the rules and then do your own things, Think you need to include things like,
steaming and anchors lights on at the same time,
boats criss crossing each other at high speed.
oh and to include a few gel coats bashes just for a bit of realism/forums/images/icons/wink.gif
Agree a nice bunk cover would look very fetching,
Have you every tried silk painting ,???? you could personalize your sail that way too!!!/forums/images/icons/smile.gif
I will get to work on it right away.. How about making a set of fluffy "Not Under Command" day marks for when the steering don't work. It would be dead easy, just like making giant pom poms.
or even a dish cloth already printed with col regs? would also enable jimi to keep his tea cups stain-free ... i mean, reading the tea leaves is one thing but when you're swilling from a cup last clean some time ago .. well, I ask you
i'm sure there is ... buy them a pair of red and green marigolds and split them
but this does leave a surplus of marigolds (exactly 50%) where the green and red would be on the wrong hands so ... i propose that those wearing the odd set should always face in the opposite direction thus conforming to col regs. a small rear view mirror could be attached to this person's head gear (the deid sheep hat looks up to the job?) so that an all round look out can be maintained ....
