The cockpit seating on my boat appeared to be solid teak..however due to water lying in one corner it was looking a bit worse for wear. I examined it more closely and discovered that it is not solid teak, rather teak ply, about 6 mm thick, routed to give the impression of solid teak, with the joints caulked black . It would seem to be a simple job to lift the old ply and replace with new, routing the joints and caulking black as before. Has anybod done this? Is Teak faced marine ply available,if so where?
