At long last our cockpit retrim has started to progress.

It was originally booked in to be finished in February which then got pushed back to March and here we are mid May with it still not finished!

All that said we are well chuffed with the quality of the work so far.

The back rests are not stuck in place yet. They are doing that this week and the helm seat back rests are not back from the embroiderers yet so we don't expect them for another couple of weeks. No complaints with what we have got so far though. :)

I am watching this with great interest, as our cockpit seating on the back two seats is starting to tear a bit on the stitches. So I think we may have to get ours done next season.

They look really great in your photos

If he ever finishes it will be £1300.

For that he has done all of the cushions and sun pad cushions, the helm seat back rests will be embroidered with the Sealine logo and he is making a small cushion for the fridge top as I like to sit on there whilst underway with the hoods up.

Tightness/Sagging.

I have looked at a number of re-trims over the months and have been disappointed with areas that are not as tight as possible or suffer sagging or ruffling where someone has just sat. Our current (original) upholstery is tight as a drum, particularly on the intricate shaping of the captains chairs.

I would be interested in your opinion of your new fitting as it does look nice and tight in the pictures.

It is very tight. No signs of any sagging after a weekends use. Suppose only time will tell how well it stands up to being used extensively!

It looks great and that sounds very reasonable to me, for such time consuming and skilled work.

We had a bit more progress on the trim.

Not much but creeping closer to the finished article!

Fingers crossed we will have the embroidered back rests in place on Friday evening.

That was for afters. After we had been mixing cocktails with the stuff just visible on top of the hob!

Favourite at the moment is Dark and Stormy.

Still not fully finished with the upholstery. We are still waiting for the back rests. But we did manage to get the hoods off last night so that we can have some idea what the finished article will look like.

We have some temporary back rests in place for this weekend.
