My cockpit was starting to look a little shabby.
After painting with a good non slip International paint all looks fine until halfway through the season where in the high wear places the paint get mucky, chipped and looks like it needs to be done again.
Over the last few years I've laid quite a few decks with Dek-king and as these all seem to be still looking great I decided to do the same on my own boat.
It is time consuming, around 30 hours start to finish but I'm pretty pleased with the results.
If the customer boats are anything to go by I won't have to do anything to keep it looking good for years other than a quick sand along the grain with 40grit paper. Very easy.
First shot is a before, when the paint was looking pretty good.
The other two shots are obviously after.
