Cockpit Duckboard

I am about to build a slatted cockpit duckboard using 20mm x 60mm Iroko.
Should it be glued and screwed, just glued, just screwed?
What glue?
What finish?

Epoxy after degreasing and no treatment if you want it to be non slip.

I did exactly the same. I glued it with PU adhesive (having cleaned the areas to be glued with acetone) and screwed it (from below) with A4 stainless wood screws. Has lasted 10 or 12 years so far with no problems at all. I left the wood untreated.

The construction design of using 20mmx60mm using Iroko should be fine. I made two cockpit locker lids one time in Iroko . Schoolboy error, I did not provide rib support on the undersides to stop the Iroko cracking. Which it did.

The finished article.
The wood is sold as Iroko bench slats. A dab of OB1 on each screwed joint. Left untreated. Time will tell. (For the sensitive, sorry about the Crocs.)
