This story tells of the seizure of a sailing yacht off Pembroke, and the 750-odd kilos of cocaine found....

Smugglers jailed

I wonder what was meant by 'anti-surveillance devices'....

You are a cheeky chappie, SiliSandiFraeScotstoun.

Let me try again: "I wonder what was meant by 'anti-surveillance devices'.... "

Presumably one could jam radar, but I'd have thought all that would do is paint a nice bright line on the screen pointing at you. A yacht with no radar reflector is a fairly stealthy thing, but you'd want a good wet, windy day to hide effectively in a thing that size.

From what I understood, they were picked up because a mobile phone hooked up to a mast. Simple lesson, use a burner - better, use one burner abroad and another approaching the UK, though I doubt it would help much once you're seriously in the sights of HMRC, so the first thing to do is not run aground and attract attention, especially when you're a known villain rather than a yotty. Still, only the stupid or unlucky ones get caught.

"... nothing to see..."

Prezackly. The small (series G) Klingon cloaking device in use again. Except that the Type 45 Samson radar can find an known unknown as easily as a unknown known.
