One of my boats is there Ive had no problems and they are currently renewing pontoons. They have always been obliging whenever Ive had problems and Ive just renewed for the year to 2006.
I had to move out with £2000 left on my mooring and was told “sorry no refunds”
Then the barstools let my mooring.
Although I walked away from an argument I have never forgotten.
I never thought Davis`s would not have been swallowed up by now, but yes that’s the one to go for.
I was there for three years and would highly recommend it.
Been there for 4 years on the racks, now just moving onto a berth for 2005.
Its expensive, but i think well run and your problems do get sorted promptly...
They refunded me the remainder of my annual charge when I moved a boat 8 motnhs thru, so i cant understand Uncle Albert.
The bridge will be a new experience as previous boats have not had a radar arch!!
Good - sheltered, pontoons, bar (not bad beer or grub), quiet
bad - drive to Quay/pubs/resteraunts (or taxi), it's a full price marina
double bad - that bridge
If you are away as much as back every night then brilliant. If you always want to come back alongside every night then the bridge will drive you crazy. I hope the former and look forward to some serious parties with Col, Rickp,Wiggo, BarryH etc through 2005 - anchored up and barbie glowing.
Ie - unless you really have to get back onto your berth late every Saturday night just grab it.
We were at Cobbs for three seasons and we liked it; good atmosphere, reasonable club house and the staff were obliging and helpful, if handled right. The Bridge is the main issue, however. They are also talking about building a second bridge which will make things worse, though I'm not sure where the plans are and it's likely to be a few years away. I'd go for it.
