Coastal Moorings in Lincolnshire

I've pottered up and down the Witham for 2 years and, whilst it's fun, it's not what my '79 Sunseeker was designed to do. She needs to make more than 4 knots!

Are there any coastal moorings within striking distance of Horncastle that take powerboats and not just sailing boats?

If you get up to Lincoln I'll organise a mooring and come for a drink in the club

Thanks for that. I was on the mooring at Boston for the first year but its still 10 miles to the sea. Passed through Lincoln a few times but its such a long flog up there! It'd be great to be a few feet from the sea!

Yes it was me but my thread was pulled when I retired from that Forum!

Saltfleet (http://www.saltfleethaven.co.uk/) and Wainfleet (http://www.skegnessyachtclub.co.uk/) are both cheap and next to the sea, but as it's been said - both dry out.

Plenty of mobos cope with it at both spots....

Alexrunic is at Wainfleet, I'm at Saltfleet if you need any more info.

Are you the chap that replied to our Apollo Duck advert? We don't allow motor boats unless visiting this is because of the area being a nature reserve and SSSI.

As others have suggested Saltfleet would be a good option and Fossdyke although quite expensive. The Saltfleet Club is very friendly and the channel is well marked and our club support there BBQ and they do ours. There are a few environment agency moorings further down stream on the Witham but I don't know much about these. There is also a new marina being built at Sutton Bridge that is being started in June or July this year.
