coach roof

this is a question that has been nagging me for a week now so I thought I would throw it up for discussion on this here forum.
While I am doing a substantial amount of work on my new Debutante do I build a coach roof to give more headroom (not a huge one)?.My dilemma is that I like the nice clean deck profile but feel that a little more headroom in part of the cabin is needed (a SWMBO thing :- using the hob to make me sarnies )
What do the panel think ??

Increasing the height will make a difference to several things inc clearance between the coachroof and the boom, and possibly in a minor way, the CofG and windage.

I'd be tempted to keep it. You will find that you get used to the clearance in any boat.

Have you got the boat home yet ?

I have seen the pictures of "Sea Dart" with coach roof (a little crude but functional I suppose) added as well as inboard mounted outboard

I like the pun, I prefer the out board in a well (inboard) Less chance of it flailing the air in a short sea, than if hung off the transom. Can be a bit smelly (esp a Seagull) and uses a bit of space. But this tends to be under the tiller, so less useful than it might appear. Single handing, even less important, but much easier to deal with fueling, speed adjustment etc. Plus turning it for swift close quarters stuff.
